SUMMARYThe Shipping Supervisor ensures every shipment arrives on time and within budget. They monitor and oversee outgoing and incoming shipping activities to verify that items are shipped to the correct location and in good condition. They make sure weights are correctly posted, that correct charges are applied, shipments are moved from shipping points to storage areas, and shipments are resolved with shipping ordersESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:Monitors and oversee both outgoing and incoming shipping activities to make sure that everything that is received or shipped out is in perfect conditionResponsible for posting weight and shipping charges as applies to every item to be shipped outLeads compiling of lists of unfulfilled orders for future referenceInspects loading operations to make sure that they comply with shipping specificationsPlans, schedules, and directs a variety of warehouse activities, including storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, and administrative activities to ensure external and internal customer requirements are met efficiently.Reads shipping notices, invoices, orders, and other documents so as to determine priorities and shipping methods that are needed to meet schedulesImplements and maintains material handling preventative maintenance programs, ensuring effective equipment utilization and safety measures are in place.Carries out regular shipping inventory reconciliation of supplied materialsPrepares incorrect items report to Supply Chain department through the appropriate mediumIdentifies opportunities for enhancement and suggests ways of improvement to management.Ensure the availability of stock to reduce shortagesSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYThe Shipping Supervisor is responsible for supervising and directing all the functions of 10 to 20 warehouse team members.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KEY ATTRIBUTESBS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, Management, or Logistics; or equivalent experience with Associates diploma/equivalencyA minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership/supervisory role, food manufacturing preferredBilingual prefer but not requiredProficient with MS Office suiteForklift driving experience - acquire or maintain forklift-training license on required equipmentExcellent organization, communication and follow-up skillsAble to influence others & manage conflictAbility to self-direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situationsExtremely high standards of excellenceUnderstanding of Lean Six Sigma, 5s, and SQFWORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and outside weather conditions.
