Solid company in Carson has a Perm (Direct Hire) Accounts Payable opportunity!--Location: Carson, CA Salary: $50,000 A consumer products company based in Carson, seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing various accounts payable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. This is a direct hire position reporting to the Accounting Manager. Responsibilities:

• Process approximately 100 invoices per week, maintaining accuracy and adhering to company policies. While the volume is low, attention to detail is crucial as coding expenses is involved.
• Review and code invoices according to proper expense accounts and cost centers.
• Verify the accuracy of invoices, including matching them with purchase orders and receipts.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues with invoices.
• Maintain vendor files and ensure that all documentation is properly filed and archived.
• Prepare and process weekly check runs or electronic payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements and address any outstanding balances or discrepancies.
• Assist in month-end closing procedures, including accruals and account reconciliations.
• Work closely with the accounting team to identify and implement improvements in accounts payable processes and systems.
• Provide exceptional customer service to vendors and internal stakeholders, addressing inquiries and resolving payment-related concerns. Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and invoice coding.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with vendors and internal teams.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and resolving payment-related issues.
  • Experience with electronic payment systems and online banking platforms is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to take an accounts payable test during the hiring process. The first interview will be conducted in-office, followed by the test.
