Alpha Wire Job Description Job Title: Quality Control Inspector Reports To: Quality Manager Department: Quality Position Summary Interacts with other functional groups including: management, engineers, planners, purchasing, production staff, maintenance and other employees within the organization to ensure efficient and effective flow of product; and resolves problems involving manufacturing and quality process.Quality Inspector who can uphold the safety policies our company has created and oversee the product development process to ensure that all products meet quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing tests on products at various stages of production to ensure that customer specifications are being met and company quality standards are followed. If you have previous experience with quality inspection in the manufacturing industry, we want to hear from you. Position Duties and Responsibilities Ensures that materials produced meet the customer's required specifications and established company standards. Meets planned shipping schedules and makes the most efficient use of time and equipment. Responds to priorities and daily requirements within the department. Review, analyze, interpret and evaluate production and inspection reports, and recommend corrective action as necessary. Department's operations to expand and improve coverage and personnel qualifications. Generate, facilitate and lead continuous improvement projects utilizing tools to improve productivity, quality and/or safety of our processes and products. Develop and conduct a variety of tests on inbound materials from vendors and outbound products for shipping Ensure that all of the quality check procedures put in place by the company are followed during every production phase Create comprehensive documentation for quality issues and note the corrective actions that were taken Educate production team on quality control issues and work with departmental managers to improve overall company safety and product quality Create process checklists and coordinate quality inspections with departmental manage Position Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: 2 or more years of experience in a low volume-high mix manufacturing environment.Demonstrated success in leading teams to help the organization achieve quality goals.Experience in, cable and wire industry, manufacturing, and other low volume-high mix environments. Knowledge: Knowledge of measurement and test equipment including laser micrometers, micrometers, calipers, multi-meter, etc.Knowledge of various conductor, insulating and jackets materials used in production Skills: Verbal, written and listening communicationProblem solvingOrganizationInterpersonal Abilities: Organize and prioritize work and make appropriate decisions.Operate a computer workstation and related hardware and software.Train others effectivelyWork under minimal supervisionRead and interpret traveler instructions, procedures and drawingsMeasure dimensional tolerances using applicable equipmentWork effectively as a team member and independentlyProvide and accept constructive criticism.Work in a Manufacturing oriented environment.Work under frequently changing priorities and deadlines.Read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.
