Job Title: Compounding Pre-weigh Department: CompoundingReports To:
Compounding SupervisorFLSA Status: Non -Exempt/Full-Time Basic
PurposeThis position will provide support to the pre-weigh and
compounding areas to meet Quality, Safety, and Productivity goals.
The pre-weigh lead will weigh chemicals for compounding associated
with the manufacturing of bulk product, operate forklifts and drum
dumpers. In addition, he or she assists the supervisor/manager in
developing infrastructure plans, organizing and directing work, and
coordinating activities with other departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately performs system transactions to transfer materials,
issues materials to work orders, and reconcile inventory
- Selects correct raw materials for weighing according to formula
sheets; accurately weighs material and packages in clean,
appropriate containers, which are properly labeled
- Records information as work is complete and processes paperwork
according to procedures
- Performs visual quality checks when weighing, identifies
discrepancies and initiates resolution
- Performs daily calibration checks and reports any out of
tolerance devices to the appropriate personnel
- Completes weighing of assigned materials in a timely manner to
meet the manufacturing and production schedules
- Cleans and sanitizes hand tools, weighing devices and all other
pre-weigh ancillary equipment
- Returns unused chemicals and empty containers to the
appropriate locations
- Obtains a working understanding of the different raw
materials
- Maintains supplies needed for daily activities
- Sustains 5s in the processing area by performing general
housekeeping duties and maintaining a clean and orderly work
area
- Safely operates powered industrial equipment in accordance with
established policies and procedures
- Secures and maintains all necessary safety equipment and
follows established safety procedures
- Performs all work in a manner consistent with the Gordon Labs
Quality System and FDA Good Manufacturing Practice regulations
- Assist in the orientation and training of new employees
- Other compounding department duties, activities assigned by the
compounding supervisor/assistant
supervisorSkills/Knowledge/Abilities
- High School Diploma or experience may be substituted with
direct industry and work experience
- 1-2 years' experience in manufacturing of Cosmetics or
Food
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical
skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within
constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Proficient on MAS90, MRP, Microsoft Suites software
- Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at
all organizational levels
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound
decisions
- Good math skills and high level of accuracy with numbers
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary
language(s) used in the workplace
