Registered Nurse (RN) | Cardiovascular Operating Room Location: Northridge, CA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $3,559 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/14/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Trauma, ortho, and general experience - Experience with open heart, valves, and thoracotomy cases preferred - Ability to self-schedule weekday call Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in a cardiovascular operating room. The unit consists of 12 suites for general operations and 1 dedicated cardiovascular operating room. On average, there are 14 cases performed daily. Registered Nurses on this unit must have BLS and ACLS certifications. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1. Charting is done using the Cerner system. Charge nurses and OR technicians are available on the unit. Registered Nurses are required to be on call for weekends and weekdays, with specific schedules depending on their shift. Weekend call is scheduled for one weekend every six weeks for the day shift. Weekday call encompasses 4 to 8 occurrences every four weeks. The call response time is 30 minutes. Holidays off include one major and one minor holiday during both summer and winter months. Hospital scrubs are provided. Telemonitoring is managed by GE Space Labs. Anesthesia coverage is provided by an in-house team 24/7. The nursing shifts consist of 8-hour schedules, with varied start times. There is no requirement for floating between departments for Registered Nurses. Orientation consists of 2-3 shifts on the unit to familiarize the staff with procedures and protocols. Common case types include orthopedic surgeries, gynecological surgeries, urology, trauma, ENT, vascular, neuro, and robotics. Travelers are not required to handle cardiovascular procedures unless requested specifically in the job description. Scrubbing experience is preferred, although not mandatory for Registered Nurses. Travel experience is also preferred. The cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment.
