• Active, unrestricted license to practice as an RN in the appropriate state of practice.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (PALS/NRP as required)
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Experience:
  • Minimum 12 months of experience working within their specialized field.
  • Must have worked as an RN within their specialty within the last six months.
  • At least one (1) year of acute care experience working with ER patient population
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Proficient with electronic health records, communications systems, computers, etc. Note: Must maintain licensing requirements/certification/accreditation during the entire performance period. Must agree to a criminal background check, and drug testing, as a prerequisite for contract performance. Job Description:
    • Develop a patient care plan after a quick and thorough evaluation of a patient's injuries
    • Bone setting, blood transfusions, wound care, changing dressings, performing minor medical operations, medication administration, treating critical injuries, allergic reactions, and trauma, among other emergency room activities
    • Chart vitals
    • Triage incoming patients based on level of injury or illness
    • Immediately stabilize incoming patients
    • Perform and document ongoing assessments including observation, physical examination, laboratory/test results, and patient response to procedural intervention.
    • Monitor ER patients, alerting physicians or charge nurses to changes in patient status and applying emergency nursing care as required.
    • Provide respiratory and ventilator management and monitoring for patients
    • Perform lab duties, incl. urinalysis, throat cultures, nasal swabs, etc.
    • Collect specimens
    • Pain management
    • Assist with tracheotomies and intubations
    • Help transfer stable patients to other wings
    • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team, participating in multidisciplinary care planning
    • Revises plan of care according to change in patient's status and implements new plan
    • Assist with insurance paperwork
    • Collect data for tests and collaborate with doctors
    • Maintain a sanitary work area
    • Provide follow-up care as necessary
    • Perform diagnostic tests
