anticipated salary range for this position is $17,500 - $19,000 per

open until filled.About the Department/Position:TheDepartment of
Facilities Planning, Design, and Construction (FPD&C)is
responsible for long and short-term campus planning and the
implementation of strategic solutions for the space needs of the
university. In order to maximize space utilization, the department
works with university administration and faculty to develop space
programs for the campus, including new buildings and
renovations.The Associate Vice President (AVP) is responsible for
providing transformational leadership and leading and directing all
campus facilities' strategic planning. This position will shape,
guide, direct, and lead strategically focused facilities solutions
that support the mission and goals of the university. The AVP will
build the formation of a best-in-class facilities planning
organization, providing vision and leadership for the department
including its critical financial and administrative services
functions. Provides supervision to the department.MPP employees
serve at the pleasure of the campus President. MPPs do not serve a
probationary period and never receive permanent status.Overview of
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and long-range vision to guide the
University's physical development of the campus, its master plan,
capital outlay program, and space planning and management.
- Develops project schedule, including milestone identification,
as well as the logistics and impacts of construction on the
University; Leads and manages the department that includes, support
staff, and Project Managers.
- Builds an organization capable of leading the development and
maintenance of the campus's physical environment and its growth and
change
- Serves in large part as a client relations/owner's
representative for VPs, AVPs, Deans, Directors, and Unit Heads in
support of the facilities and space requirements of university-wide
academic and administrative facilities
- Provides guidance and acts as an advisor to the Vice President,
Administration, and Finance on deferred maintenance and capital
plans for submittal to the Chancellor's Office.
- Oversees real estate documentation, environmental compliance,
and financial planning.Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction
management, or a related field, and eight-plus (8+) years of
experience in planning, design, construction, and capital program
management. Demonstrated experience in the methods, practices, and
procedures of facilities planning, design, construction, and
capital outlay and funding policies and practices as they relate to
educational or public institutions including fiscal management, and
budgetary preparation and control techniquesKnowledge, Skills, and
Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of organizational management and the
principles and practices of facilities planning management.
- A high level of personal integrity, ethics, initiative, and
interpersonal skills, including a commitment to transparency and
service.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with
administrators, faculty, staff, students, and the external
community.
- Ability to comprehend and digest large amounts of information;
and flexibility to adjust to competing priorities in the work
schedule.

- Possession of a valid Driver's License is required. Employees
in this position will be enrolled in the Department of Motor
Vehicles (DMV) Government Employer Pull Notice Program.
