Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary
benchmarks for Neurology ranging from $220,000.00 - $289,940.00.
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank
and/or step at appointment. See the Professorial Series (Adjunct,
Clinical X, HS Clinical, In Residence, Ladder Rank) and Professor
of Teaching Series - Health Sciences Compensation Plan. This
position includes membership in the health science compensation
plan, which provides for eligibility for additional
compensation.

Position description
UC Irvine Movement Disorders Program
The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine
(UCI) has an outstanding full-time faculty opportunity for a board
eligible/certified physician to join its Movement Disorders
Program. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong
interest and commitment to the care of patients with movement
disorders and will participate in specialty and interdisciplinary
clinics at UCI Health. Candidates should be highly motivated and
collaborative and will combine outstanding clinical care with an
academic commitment to research and the training of residents,
medical students and post-doctoral fellows.
The UCI Neurology Movement Disorders Program offers comprehensive,
compassionate, world-class care for the spectrum of adult movement
disorders, including Parkinson's disease; essential tremor; Lewy
Body disease; Huntington's disease as a HDSA Center of Excellence;
dystonia; tic disorders; chorea; myoclonus; and atypical
parkinsonism. In addition we have recently added dedicated programs
in Ataxia and in Neurogenetics. Patients are cared for by a
multidisciplinary team of professionals including neurologists,
neuropsychologists, and allied health professionals to provide
patients with leading-edge neurological services. We have a strong
DBS program in collaboration with our outstanding colleagues in
Neurosurgery, and a busy practice offering botulinum toxin
treatment. We also have a strong relationship with pediatric
movement disorders neurologists at CHOC. For clinical trials
activities, the CIRM-funded UCI Alpha Stem Cell Clinic and the
Center for Clinical Research provide robust infrastructure for
clinical trials, and we are a Parkinson Study Group clinical trials
site. Taken together, this creates a wealth of opportunities for
the successful candidate to conduct and participate in research
with outstanding mentorship and support. The applicant will
participate in the clinical, teaching, and research activities of
the UCI Neurology Program in Movement Disorders.
The Department of Neurology and the Movement Disorders Program
strive to provide a rich educational environment, including a
UCNS-certification fellowship for Movement Disorders. We also
provide undergraduate, postgraduate, continuing medical education,
and neurology grand rounds programs to educate the next generation
of physicians.

Professional qualifications:
* An M.D., M.D./Ph.D., D.O., or equivalent degree with active board
certification or eligibility in Neurology with fellowship training
in Movement Disorders.
* Eligibility to obtain an active and unrestricted medical practice
license to practice in the State of California.
* Qualified to hold a faculty appointment in the Department of
Neurology and hold medical staff privileges with the UCI Medical
Center.
* Rank and academic track will be commensurate with candidate
experience and credentials.
Personal qualifications/experience:
* Dedication to patients, their families, and providing excellent
service.
* Interest and experience in working in a collaborative
comprehensive neurosciences center.
* Active involvement with international, national, and/or regional

scientists on campus, including UCI MIND and the ADRC, and the
patient experience is enhanced by our working closely with
colleagues across a number of departments, such as the
Neurosurgery, Family Medicine/Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology,
and the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute. A new
outpatient unit is launching in 2024 and a new hospital in 2025
with a major focus in clinical neuroscience. As part of Orange
County's only academic medical center, our neurologists also
actively pursue leading-edge research to minimize or eradicate the
effects of diseases to advance the well-being, health, and care of
our patients. UCI holds a NIH Clinical Translational Science Award
in which Trial Innovation Network activities are embedded as part
of the UC Irvine Institute for Clinical and Translational Science
(ICTS). As physician researchers, we have a high degree of
commitment to clinical research on memory disorders and to matching
