Position Summary:

Our client, a Construction firm, is seeking a full time senior tax professional to join their team. -

-

The successful candidate should have at least 3 years' experience of tax experience and this is a newly created role due to succession planning. Lots of room to grow and advance for ambitious individual!

• There are no current levels between this position and the Tax Director.
• You get to see the "big" picture!
• While this position will primarily be responsible for State and Local income tax filings and audits, you will also have exposure and opportunities to become involved in a broad scope of tax issues to help you develop stronger "generalist" skill sets over time.

  Primarily responsible for state and local income tax filings and audits. This position will also work in coordination with the Tax Director, Parent Company and Tax Consultants relating to other business tax and reporting issues.

  Primary responsibilities include:

• Tax Compliance - prepare state and local returns and estimated tax payments
• Tax Research - federal state, local and foreign tax laws and regulations as needed
• Income Tax Provisions - assist with quarterly preparation
• Tax Audit - manage and oversee tax audits by state and local governmental authorities
• Special Projects - assist in variety of other projects as assigned
• Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (CPA and/or MST or in progress is a plus)
• 2+ years of relevant tax experience (multi-state income tax, sales and property tax rules)
• Proactive ability to perform tax research
• MS Office proficiency (Excel and Word) and OneSource and/or SAP software helpful
• Ability to effectively communicate and build working relationships with internal colleagues, parent company,
• and 3rd party vendors.
• Ability to "own" current responsibilities with a desire to learn and broaden knowledge in other areas of tax.
